The Flagler Palm Coast Veterinary Assistant Program provides students with hands-on, real-world experience in the field of veterinary medicine, allowing them to apply classroom knowledge in authentic settings. While the program places a strong emphasis on small animal medicine-primarily dogs and cats-students are also introduced to large animal and livestock care, as well as exotic, laboratory, and wildlife medicine.
Students gain practical experience through interactive classroom labs, participation in Doggie Daycare, animal care and husbandry for classroom pets, educational field trips, and internships with local veterinary hospitals. These opportunities help students build technical skills, confidence, and professional workplace habits.
Upon successful completion of the program, students are prepared to test for two industry certifications and are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to enter the veterinary field or continue their education through college pathways such as veterinary technology or pre-veterinary studies.
