About the Program

This program offers a coherent sequence of rigorous courses aligned with challenging academic standards and industry-relevant technical knowledge and skills. It prepares students for postsecondary education and careers within the Health Science career cluster through competency-based, applied learning. Students develop academic knowledge, higher-order reasoning, problem-solving abilities, professional work habits, employability skills, technical proficiency, and occupation-specific skills across multiple areas of health science.

Please note: Due to the rigorous coursework, students must have a Level 3 or higher on their most recent FAST ELA PM3 (or equivalent) to be eligible.

    • Practicing vital signs and basic patient care skills
    • Phlebotomy and EKG skill simulations

    • Medical terminology and documentation
    • Team-based clinical scenarios and simulations
    • Grade 9: Biology and Health Science Anatomy & Physiology (2 periods)
    • Grade 10: Health Science Foundations
    • Grade 11: Electrocardiograph Technologist
    • Grade 12: Allied Health Assisting (2 periods)
    • National Healthcareer Association EKG certification test is taken at the conclusion of the EKG course.
    • National Healthcareer Association Patient Care Technician certification is taken at the conclusion of the AHA course
  • Students who complete the Allied Health Program gain hands-on skills and real-world knowledge to prepare for careers healthcare.
